Looking Back Reminds You Why You Started

I shared something with my marketing team yesterday that I wrote several years ago about why Debbie and I started 360 Quality Care + Transport Services. Reading it again reminded me that while a lot has changed, the reason we started has not.

Our "why" began with family.

Debbie's father loved going to St. Louis Cardinals games, but getting there had become one of the hardest parts of his life. Watching him struggle with something as simple as getting from the car to the stadium made us realize there had to be a better way. We wanted to create a service that offered more than transportation. We wanted people to be treated with dignity, compassion, comfort, and respect.

That was our why.

It was just a few years before that Simon Sinek introduced the business world to the idea of "Start With Why," I think many leaders began to recognize that purpose isn't just good for culture—it's good for business. People connect with organizations that know why they exist.

Looking back, I realize something else. A "why" isn't meant to stand still.

Today, we've grown into one of the region's leading healthcare mobility providers, but what excites me most isn't the number of vehicles, transports, or miles we've traveled. It's that we've come to understand our role in something much bigger.

Transportation isn't just about getting someone from one place to another. It's about improving access to care, supporting families and caregivers, reducing barriers to treatment, and ultimately helping improve health outcomes.

Over the past several years, we've spent as much time advocating for healthcare mobility as we've spent talking about our company. We've learned that when you advocate for the people you serve, you earn trust. And trust creates opportunities to make an even greater difference.

The mission hasn't changed. It has simply grown.

Our vision today is bigger than transportation. It's about helping build a healthcare system where mobility is recognized as an essential part of quality care.

I'm proud of where we started, grateful for the people who have believed in us along the way, and excited about where we're headed next.

Because the best organizations don't just start with why. They continue growing it.
