Longest Day Program gets "lift" from Team 360

"We are very grateful to all our sponsors and especially our Community Sponsors that include 360 Quality Care + Transport Services; Enterprise Bank & Trust; Doster, Ullom & Boyle, LLC; The Family of Pat Hoffman: Mid Rivers Newsmagazine and West Newsmagazine - Debbie Shaw-Franke

It was a beautiful day, sun shining and 70 degrees. "Walk weather doesn't get much better than this" said Stephen and Debbie Newman as they rolled, not one, but three specialty transport vans into Augusta, MO to support the Alzheimer's Association and the Tom Shaw Foundation. The transport vans were on display but also ready to be dispatched if necessary to help walkers make it safely back to the start/finish.

Ralph Pfremmer, walk organizer and also a member of Team 360, thought partnering up with the Tom Shaw Foundation was just the right thing to do given the fact that many of 360's clients suffer from this debilitating disease. The Katy Trail was also just the right place to experience the countryside and take in the fresh air. Over 125 participants and volunteers came out to help raise funds.

Participants signed in at 8:30 with cool jazz, donuts and coffee. Lunch was served above at Good News Brewery as folks trickled back in at their leisure. Ahead of the start, St. Charles County Council Member, Joe Brazil told stories of Tom Shaw and his contributions to the community of Southwestern St. Charles County. Tom Shaw died in 2018 of complications from Alzheimer's.

Back in July, elected officials, business owners and local figureheads from St. Louis and St. Charles counties gathered at the Daniel Boone Bridge – the connector between St. Louis and St. Charles Counties to announce the formation of the Tom Shaw Foundation and the walk held this past weekend.
